A PVA bag holds your bait in a neat measured dose, dissolves the moment it hits water, and leaves nothing behind. We make the film cold-water grade because fishing water is ambient — no wash cycle, no heat, just lake, river or sea.
What a PVA fishing bag does
A PVA fishing bag carries bait — boilies, pellets, groundbait, particles — in a pre-measured dose. You cast it out with the rig. The bag hits the water, the film dissolves, and the bait lands in exactly the spot you aimed at, in one tight pile instead of a scattered trail.
For an angler, that means a tighter feed pattern and a bag that doubles as a feeder. For a brand selling to anglers, it means a product people rebuy in bulk, and one where the film grade decides whether it works at all.
Where PVA bags are used
- Solid bags — a flat bag filled with pellets or crushed boilies, hooked and cast as a single parcel.
- Mesh and stringers — tubular film threaded with boilies, used to lay a line of bait along the bottom.
- Sticks and bags — cylindrical film filled with groundbait for distance casting.
- Sea and attractant bags — film packed with chopped bait or attractant, cast with the hookbait.
What we make
| Specification | What we supply |
| Formats | Flat bags, tubular mesh, stringer tube, flat sheet, rolls for filling on your own line |
| Film grade | Cold-water PVA, 20–30 °C — the grade that dissolves in ambient lake, river or sea water |
| Dissolving speed | Tuned at sampling: fast for a quick release, slower where the bag must survive the cast and the descent |
| Size | Made to your dimensions — width, length, tube diameter |
| Thickness | Set at sampling against your dissolving time and how rough the cast is |
| Print | Unprinted, or printed with your logo and product name |
| Packing | Bulk cartons, or retail-ready packs under your brand |
Why cold-water film, not warm
Water temperature in a lake or river is ambient — around 5 °C in winter and 22 °C in summer. There is no heat to help the film along. A warm-water or hot-water grade would still be sitting there as a bag an hour after the cast, which is the single most common complaint about badly sourced PVA bags.
Cold-water film is formulated to break down in that 20–30 °C band and below. The exact dissolving time is set by film thickness and formula, which is why we tune it during sampling rather than quoting a number up front.
What to specify when you enquire
Send us these and we can quote precisely
- The format — flat bag, mesh tube, stringer, or roll
- Bag or tube dimensions
- Water temperature where it will be used, and the season
- How fast the bag needs to dissolve — seconds, or after it settles on the bottom
- What goes inside it, and whether the bait is wet or oily
- Print requirement and target quantity
Common mistakes in PVA bag sourcing
- Specifying warm-water film by accident. It looks identical and it costs the same, but it will not dissolve in a cold lake.
- Chasing the thinnest film. Thinner dissolves faster but tears on the cast. The right thickness is a compromise, set by testing.
- Oily or wet bait without telling the supplier. Oil and moisture attack the film from the inside. The formula has to account for it.
- Skipping the sample. Two films can read the same on paper and behave completely differently on a cold morning at the bank.
How ordering works
Send your spec. We come back within one business day with a film recommendation, the sample plan and the timing. You test the samples on your own bait and in your own water. Only when the film performs do we move to bulk production, quality check and shipping.

Quick answers
The questions buyers ask most about this application.
What film grade do fishing bags need?
Cold-water PVA film, rated for around 20–30 °C and below. Fishing water is ambient, so there is no wash cycle or heat to help the bag dissolve. The exact dissolving time is tuned by film thickness and formula at sampling.
How fast does a PVA fishing bag dissolve?
It depends on the thickness and the formula we set for you, plus the water temperature on the day. We tune it to your requirement during sampling — faster where you want a quick release, slower where the bag has to survive the cast and sink first.
Can you make mesh tubes and stringers, not just flat bags?
Yes. We supply flat bags, tubular mesh, stringer tube, flat sheet and rolls for customers who fill on their own line. Send the tube diameter and length you need.
Can the bags be printed with my brand?
Yes. Bags can be supplied unprinted or printed with your logo and product name, and packed in retail-ready packaging under your brand.
What quantity do I need to order?
It depends on the bag size, the film grade and whether the pack is printed. Send your target quantity with your enquiry and we confirm the exact minimum, unit price and lead time in the written quote before you commit.
